The Extra Mile Free Printable

go-the-extra-mile

It’s been a while since I posted a free printable.  I saw this little gem a while back and thought I’d use it in my lettering practice.  Hopefully your week is off to a good start.  If it’s not – or if it is – it’s a good week to go out of your way and do something nice for someone.  I know I can always do better.  It’s easy to get caught up in my schedule and be blind to those around me who could use an extra hand.  Whenever I take advantage of the opportunity to help someone, my life gains purpose.  Going the extra mile is something we are always trying to teach our kids.  Our kids are getting bigger and this summer we’re hitting it even harder and included service in their daily to-do list.  They get an allowance if they get their chores done each week.  I hate to lump service in as a chore, but it has to start somewhere, doesn’t it?!

Printable Peter Pan Quote

We did it!  We made it to the end of the week.  I have a pretty busy weekend, so making it to the weekend doesn’t signify relaxing in any form, however, sometimes it feels like an accomplishment to simply make it to Friday.  With no segue in sight, I’ll just make the jump…Peter Pan is as charming a story as there ever was; filled to the brim with wisdom only found in children and the very old.  Something happens to us during these in-between years that makes us forget simple pearls of wisdom.  This is why we have children; to help us remember.  Try it out this weekend, think happy thoughts and find your wings.

Love Note from Me to You

When I was young, somewhere around 14 or 15, and was plastering my bedroom with quotes, I cut these two words out of a magazine ad.  Do people even do that anymore?  Cut pages from magazines?  Do people hold things in their hands and feel them, or has the once tangible turned digital?  I still like to read books printed on paper and to tape pages of inspiring ‘what-have-yous’ on my wall.  With plain old masking tape, even.  Anyway, it’s Friday, and you get two words that have stuck with me for over 15 years:  Be brilliant.  It’s what I hope to be; what I tell my kids to be.  Be your best in whatever moment you find yourself in.
