The Extra Mile Free Printable

go-the-extra-mile

It’s been a while since I posted a free printable.  I saw this little gem a while back and thought I’d use it in my lettering practice.  Hopefully your week is off to a good start.  If it’s not – or if it is – it’s a good week to go out of your way and do something nice for someone.  I know I can always do better.  It’s easy to get caught up in my schedule and be blind to those around me who could use an extra hand.  Whenever I take advantage of the opportunity to help someone, my life gains purpose.  Going the extra mile is something we are always trying to teach our kids.  Our kids are getting bigger and this summer we’re hitting it even harder and included service in their daily to-do list.  They get an allowance if they get their chores done each week.  I hate to lump service in as a chore, but it has to start somewhere, doesn’t it?!

Floral and Tree Envelope Liner Printables

I’m quite excited for today.  After a couple of quick working hours this morning, I’m off to spend the day romping from park to park with my kids, ending with a promised stop at the library to stock up on good summer reads.  My pick: The Great Gatsby.  I have not seen the movie, and only vaguely know the premise, so I am excited for my reading adventure.

I’ve been pinning to a new board on Pinterest, Envelope Style, and have been so enjoying the fabulous ideas for dressing up a boring envelope that I decided to give you some nature-inspired, yet fun-loving, envelope liners that will go with just about any sort of pretty card.  The printables are square, simply trace your envelope on them, then cut just inside your line and you’re done!  Easy as pie, and just as much fun to give to a friend.

Printable Peter Pan Quote

We did it!  We made it to the end of the week.  I have a pretty busy weekend, so making it to the weekend doesn’t signify relaxing in any form, however, sometimes it feels like an accomplishment to simply make it to Friday.  With no segue in sight, I’ll just make the jump…Peter Pan is as charming a story as there ever was; filled to the brim with wisdom only found in children and the very old.  Something happens to us during these in-between years that makes us forget simple pearls of wisdom.  This is why we have children; to help us remember.  Try it out this weekend, think happy thoughts and find your wings.

Free Printable Quote by Emerson

I hope your week has been full and worthwhile.  Today’s printable is a special request by one of our readers.  It’s a lovely quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, whose works are well known.  Emerson held the belief that in order to form a community, in the true sense of  the word, people had to be real; they needed to know who they were and what they were capable of, and be true to that.  It’s a rather beautiful and resonating idea, isn’t it?  And so, for Rebecca, here is your print.  May we all forgive our “absurdities and blunders” and start each day with serenity and an energetic spirit, making the best of what is given us.  (Oh, and since we have broached the topic,  this commencement speech is a gem, and will likely open your eyes to what is real.)

The day after a holiday is usually a busy one, and today is no exception.  I have a full plate today, though I am not complaining because I am working on all sorts of lovely projects.  Perhaps I’ll even give you a sneak peek later on this afternoon.  For now, I’ve made some pretty table numbers for you to download for free.   These coordinate perfectly with one of our wedding invitation and save the date suites that will be debuting in our magazine in just a few short weeks.  Cheers!
